Imperial County Sheriff's Office Activity Log: Sept. 4-5, 2026

Deputies logged 7 bookings and dozens of calls for service across Imperial County between Sept. 4 and Sept. 5, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs released Sept. 5. The following items are drawn entirely from those logs.

TOP INCIDENTS

A juvenile was arrested in Winterhaven on Sept. 4 after a caller reported that a group of young people confronted her son outside a residence and that one of them pointed a firearm at her, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. Deputies were dispatched to the area of Winterhaven and 3rd Avenue at about 8:10 p.m. The log states the caller reported the juvenile threw the gun near a nearby church, and deputies searched the area and were directed to where the weapon was discarded. The log notes the juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of criminal threats and exhibiting a weapon. The juvenile is not being identified because of their age.

A juvenile was detained at Holtville High School on Sept. 4 and booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger on school grounds, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. Deputies were called to the campus on Olive Avenue at about 8:35 a.m. The log states one juvenile was detained, that deputies collected evidence and that the juvenile was booked. The juvenile is not being identified because of their age.

Gerald Galvan, 56, was arrested early Sept. 5 on suspicion of making criminal threats and trespassing after a report of a threat at an RV resort on Highway 86 in the Salton City area, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. The log states a caller reported a resident had been threatened. Deputies responded at about 6:27 p.m. Sept. 4 and Galvan was booked at 2:20 a.m. Sept. 5 on suspicion of threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and trespassing, with bail set at $20,000 on each count. The Imperial County Sheriff's Office is listed as the arresting agency. The person who reported the threat is not being identified.

Deputies responded to a report of a dead body on A Street in the Brawley area at about 6:13 p.m. Sept. 4, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. The log lists the person as a 75-year-old woman, describes the circumstances as unknown and states there was no indication of foul play. The call was cleared and assigned a coroner case number.

MAJOR ARRESTS

Adam Jon Gibbs, 65, was arrested Sept. 4 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale and transporting a controlled substance, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. The log lists the arrest location as South 6th Street in El Centro and the Imperial County Narcotics Task Force as the arresting agency. Gibbs was booked at 11:53 a.m. with bail set at $25,000 on each count.

Alonso Arballo, 46, was arrested Sept. 4 on suspicion of stalking, electronic distribution of harassing material and a felony parole violation, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. The log lists the arrest location as South 9th Street and the Imperial County Sheriff's Office as the arresting agency. Arballo was booked at 2:10 p.m. He is being held without bail on the parole violation, with bail set at $30,000 on each of the two remaining counts.

Rafael Carbajal Martinez Jr., 41, was arrested Sept. 4 on suspicion of grand theft, taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, receiving known stolen property, possessing a stolen vehicle and felony vandalism, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs. The arrest followed a trespassing report on Coolidge Springs Road at about 6:55 a.m., in which a caller told dispatchers a man was on his property and had disconnected security cameras. The log states deputies later located a vehicle hidden in brush along Coolidge Springs Road. Martinez was booked at 12:32 p.m. with bail set at $10,000 on each of the five counts. The Imperial County Sheriff's Office is listed as the arresting agency.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Two men were booked on suspicion of domestic violence related offenses during the reporting period, according to Imperial County Sheriff's Office activity logs.

One man was booked Sept. 4 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or partner following an incident in El Centro, with bail set at $50,000. The El Centro Police Department is listed as the arresting agency.

A second man was booked early Sept. 5 on suspicion of battery against a spouse, former spouse or dating partner and obstructing or resisting a peace officer following an incident in El Centro, with bail set at $5,000 on each count. The El Centro Police Department is listed as the arresting agency.
