Three Dead, Multiple Injured in Glendale Steakhouse Shooting During Cinco de Mayo Celebration

On the evening of Sunday, May 4, 2025, a mass shooting occurred at El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse in Glendale, Arizona, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries. The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. during a Cinco de Mayo celebration attended by approximately 200 to 300 people.

According to Glendale Police, the violence began with a fight involving individuals with a history of conflict. Multiple shooters were involved, and over 30 shots were fired in rapid succession. The deceased have been identified as a 17-year-old boy, his 29-year-old brother, and a 21-year-old man. Among the injured is a 16-year-old boy who required surgery but is expected to recover.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with one bystander recounting a father crying out for his son.  Several individuals are being questioned as potential witnesses, suspects, or persons of interest. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Mexican Consulate in Phoenix is offering assistance to those affected by the tragedy.  This incident adds to a troubling pattern of gun violence in the U.S., with 97 mass shootings reported so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse has expressed deep condolences and is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they continue to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
