43-Year-Old Brawley Man Killed in Early Morning Shooting on I Street
BRAWLEY, Calif. —The Brawley Police Department is investigating a homicide following a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in the 1600 block of I Street.
According to a press release from the Brawley Police Department, officers were dispatched after the Brawley Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a possible shooting. Video obtained by 760 News Media shows that gunshots can be heard at exactly 6:46 a.m., indicating that the shooting occurred at that time. The caller reportedly stated that a subject may have been shot in the face.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male identified as a 43-year old Brawley resident suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Officers rendered immediate life-saving aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Imperial County Sheriff’s Office logs show a related call for service at Pioneers Memorial Hospital at approximately 7:57 a.m., classified as a “dead body” call involving a male in his early 40s who suffered gunshot wounds. The incident was cleared later that day.
760 News was on scene and observed blood in the dirt near the location of the shooting. Streets in the surrounding area remained closed until around 1 p.m. while investigators processed the scene.

Additional reports suggest the man later fled the area on foot. This information has not been confirmed by authorities.
