City of El Centro Schedules Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Downtown Revitalization
EL CENTRO, Calif. — The City of El Centro will host a public town hall on Tuesday, June 10, to discuss the future of the city’s downtown area. The event will be held at 9 a.m. at the Old Post Office Pavilion, located at 230 S. 5th Street.
Organized by the Community Development and Community Services Departments, the town hall aims to provide updates on a range of city-led projects and initiatives related to Downtown El Centro. City officials say the meeting will also serve as a platform for community members to voice their ideas, concerns, and priorities.
“This is about listening to our community and ensuring Downtown El Centro reflects the needs and vision of our residents,” said Mayor Sonia Carter in a statement. “We want everyone’s voice to be part of the process as we work to create a safer, more welcoming, and economically vibrant downtown.”
Topics expected to be addressed during the meeting include infrastructure improvements, public safety, beautification efforts, economic development strategies, and upcoming city events. Light refreshments will be served.
In the lead-up to the event, the city is also encouraging residents to participate in a public survey focused on Downtown El Centro. The survey, which closes on June 4, is available on the city’s website at www.cityofelcentro.org. Residents are invited to weigh in on key issues such as business needs, safety, and beautification.
Survey results will be presented during the June 10 town hall, according to city officials.
