Imperial Valley to Honor 25 Years Since 9/11 with 13th Annual Memorial & Stair Climb
IMPERIAL VALLEY, CA — The Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Committee will host the 13th Annual Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial & Stair Climb on Saturday, September 12, 2026, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
This is a particularly meaningful year for the Imperial Valley community as we reach the 25-year milestone. The 2026 event will feature special surprises, new elements, and more participation from local public safety agencies and the community than ever before, making this year’s gathering one of the most significant commemorations yet.
The event will honor the 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, and thousands of innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, while recognizing the courage and sacrifice of first responders who continue to serve and protect our communities.
Participants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories, representing the height of the World Trade Center towers, while carrying the names and memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A memorial ceremony will also provide an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance and reflection.
This year’s theme, “Remember 9/11, Live Like 9/12,” encourages us to carry forward the unity, compassion, gratitude, and sense of community that emerged in the days following September 11
Supporting our public safety sectors has never been more crucial. As we remember the sacrifices of those who answered the call 25 years ago, this event serves as an opportunity to stand behind the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and other public safety professionals who continue to answer that call every day.
